10.2 Interview

Interview is one of the important criteria in completing the Basic Situation Analysis. Through interview, we have the ability to acquire all the information about the company such as the background, profile, market share and etc. Sometimes we have the need to obtain the private & confidential data from a company, hence, interview is the best way of problem solving when working on the basic situation analysis. 

Recently our group has faced a problem in the process of data collection. Our proposed company – BenQ, has rejected our request of having an interview session with their company due to tight working schedule. In our opinion, they refused our interview simply because they cannot find any benefits of helping us. We have called-up the BenQ Services & Marketing (M) sdn bhd on last week with our sincerities; however, they are just perfunctory in asking us to send them the official letter from our university and the information scope we had requested for. It takes up two working days for them to reply after we have made the second call. Finally, we got the rejected email with pretty disappointed.

Might I take a moment of your time to introduce myself?

My name is Koay Chen Yeong and I am a student presently pursuing my degree majoring in Media Innovation at Multimedia University, Cyberjaya.  The purpose I am composing this email is to request the permission for an interview session to BenQ Service & Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd in completing my Final-Year-Project. For your information, i have chosen BenQ LCD Monitor as my Final-Year-Project title with the objectives of studying and promoting to the BenQ LCD Monitor. In order to proceed to the next, I have need of doing a Basic Situation Analysis for BenQ LCD Monitor. However, the Basic Situation Analysis still incomplete as some of the information could not be found via the online and offline resources such as internet, journal, articles, newspaper, magazine and etc. Thus, I sincerely wish to acquire that information from BenQ Malaysia. So far, below are the scopes of information I am still looking for:

OK, i understand. Although it is quite disappointing, but i know you have tried your best in assisting me. Anyway, thanks for your consideration. If possible, i really hope to request for a little information only that i totally impossible to get it from others but just BenQ.

The initial purpose of sending this email is to request for the permission for an interview session to BenQ Service & Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd in completing my Final-Year-Project for academic purpose. However, i am failed to get approval from BenQ for the interview session due to the tight working schedule. Although it is quite disappointing, but i understand BenQ have tried the best in assisting me. Anyway, thanks for the consideration. As proposed earlier on the previous email to interview through email, these are the questions that my teammate and I would like to know the answer:

Unfortunately, we could not do anything on it but just have to wait for their reply. Until we have completed our Basic Situation Analysis, yet, there has no reply our email. 

Although we cannot collect the complete information from them, but at least we have try our best to solve this problem by finding he most related information. Thanks to the BenQ for giving us an opportunity to learn the problem solving skill.
